Here's the scoop on our new location!!

In March 2007, we moved to our new shop.

The new address is 301 Gilmer Street Suite C in Sulphur Springs, Texas.  This shop is only about a block away from our old location, but is much more convenient.

Here are some pictures of the new place.  The pictures will take you on a chronological tour of construction through opening.

Here's a look at the front of the building.  Our shop is at the far right side.
....and a closer view of the front.
Here's the side of the building.  The windows here and at the front let in lots of sunlight.
....and the back door.  The pipe on the left side of the roof is for the laser exhaust.
This is the view from the front door.  You'll see several pieces of tape on the floor.  We're using the tape to help us see where the walls are going to be.
Here's a look toward the front of the shop.
....and my lovely wife Janna, showcasing the beautiful glass in the front door.
The exhaust system is mounted above the ceiling.  The motor is isolated from the building structure by rubber/neoprene cushions to dampen any vibration.  The duct is similarly isolated from the motor.  This will help to minimize noise.
Janna is inspecting the floor plan, making sure we have the best showroom layout possible.
Here she is laying out locations for fixtures.
....and here I am trying to look busy.

The wall studs are up, and the rooms are taking shape!

Here are the cabinets, ready to be installed in the kitchen.

Here's a pic of where some of our finer acrylic awards will be displayed.  The sheetrock is up, and much of the tape & bed work is done.
This is the wall for most of our plaques.
....and the trophy display area.
Here's a shot of the front door.
This is the hallway that separates the showroom from the back of the shop.
Here's a view of the stockroom walls.
Janna is inspecting the tape & bed work.
This is the exhaust system port.  Don't let children or small animals near this when it's running - the suction is strong!!

What a week!  Things are really taking shape now!

Our sign is now up in the front of our building.

....another view.
....and yet another view.
You can see the fine job our tape & bed crew did.  A close visual inspection revealed that they did fantastic work.
Here's a corner of our "Acrylic Showroom".
This floor used to be virtually spotless.  Within a week, this streaked floor will be covered with beautiful carpet.
The cabinets are still waiting patiently to be put into place.
Here's a shot of the front door and its column.
This is the "Wall of Plaques".  Maybe I'll look up the French translation for that, just to make it sound more fancy!
....more "Wall of Plaques".
Here's a shot from the front door, looking down the hallway.
This is a view of the kitchen area, again showing the great work by our tape & bed crew.
This is the workroom.  Within the next week or so, we'll have shelves on these walls.
....and another shot of the workroom.
These wooden walls will soon be painted.
....as will this door.
There was a bit of sheetrock work to do here.  Can you tell where?
This is a close-up view of the texture over the tape & bed.
There are still some minor issues to work out around our windows, as you can see here.  These cracks will be fixed prior to painting in the next couple of days.
Here's another spot that will be fixed soon.

Things are shaping up!  The carpet is down, and the walls are finished...including the slatwall for shelving.
Here's another view of the showroom.
....and another view.
The kitchen is looking good, too.  Kalan is busy cleaning the new countertops.
Here's a pic of the workroom.  We've been in the shop for two days, and my desk is already a mess.
Here's another view of the workroom.  The wooden worktable in the foreground is one of the few furniture items that I actually built from the ground up.
Here's a look at the stockroom shelving.
....and more shelves.
This is from the first batch of plaques produced in our new shop.  This is a piano finish rosewood plaque, with gold enamel inlayed into the engraving.

The day we've been waiting for is finally here.  Our displays are on the truck, and headed our way!  Kalan is busy cleaning windows, while Kasey (the ever-hyper poodle) cheers her on.
Our clock display is about 50% complete, as we wait for the displays to arrive.  We expect to have about 30 different clock designs once it's complete.
We've hung our plaque displays.  We have just a few items ready for display here.  Soon we will have three boards FULL of plaques!
The displays are finally here!!  Oh, what a mess for Kalan to clean up.......
The front counters look nice.  Here you can see my lovely wife's wedding picture.  (She's as beautiful today as she was when that picture was taken - nearly 18 years ago!)
The shelf brackets are up....
Now the glass shelves are in place....
But are they clean?  No.  Kalan fixes that.
Here are a few of our new acrylics on display.
More beautiful awards.
Janna straightens are cleans the acrylics (a little dusty after all the construction).

The big day - Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting day!
Pam Carter (greatest caterer on Earth!) and Karen have finished setting up the refreshments for the Grand Opening reception.
The biggest and best surprise of the day was a visit from one of my heroes:  Roy Brewer!

What an honor it was for Roy to join us!

Thanks for following our progress.  It's been a wonderful blessing to see this new location come together.  Come see why we're so excited!
