Moving week has begun!

July 3, 2014

We brought in new (well, "re-purposed") desks for two of the workstations. This station will mainly control the Direct Color printer and the Roland engraver, but is also networked with the laser engraver.

This station will be used mostly with the laser, and is also the primary artwork station for sandcarving.

On the right-hand side of this picture, you can see that we've started moving our plaques and sheet stock onto a storage rack next to the laser. The worktable directly in front of the rack is a 6' x 2' worktable where we'll do most of our plaque assembly.

The DCS/Roland workstation is up and running! You can see another 6' x 2' worktable on the right-hand side of this picture.

I built this 8' x 2' table when we moved into Suite C in 2006. It's part of our original equipment - complete with many battle scars! One of our tasks today will be to unload the hundreds of pounds of hardware from the storage shelf, and to move it all to Suite B.

Progress! This picture was taken after about an hour of unloading. Did I mention that we were also taking an inventory of all our parts as we transferred them to Suite B? Yep...this took a while.

An hour and a half after starting with the big table, we have a big empty spot in the floor of Suite C! The table is now moved into place in front of the DCS/Roland station.

Our next move was this rack of medals. Did I mention inventory? (Think "four hours of counting".)

More plaques on the shelves...

Acrylic and crystal items are starting to fill their shelves...

The resins have started moving in...

These shelves will hold mostly trophy bases and figures.

These shelves are looking a little barren compared to 48 hours ago!

That's it for Week 5...be sure to check back next week for the (fingers crossed!) final week of moving!
